TOKYO — Amid a renewed trade war between the U.S. and China, 27% of Japanese companies are considering curbing their reliance on Chinese supply chains, according to a KPMG Consulting survey published Friday.
U.S. President Donald Trump called for a 60% tariff on all imports from China during his campaign. After taking office, he imposed an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports on Feb. 2, which he doubled to 20% on March 4.
