Ishiba’s approval rating slides to lowest despite Trump meeting

TOKYO — The approval rating of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s cabinet slid to 40% in the latest Nikkei/TV Tokyo poll, down 3 percentage points from the January survey and marking the lowest since he took office in October.

The disapproval rating rose 2 percentage points to 52%, its highest yet.
