FT Group picks Jon Slade as CEO

TOKYO — The Financial Times Group said on Tuesday that Jon Slade, its chief commercial officer, will succeed John Ridding as CEO in July.

Slade became CCO in 2014, leading the sales and advertisement of the U.K.-based media group and also led the transformation of the business structure from paper newspapers to digital media and the group’s global expansion. He also initiated partnerships with U.S. tech companies and prominent artificial intelligence developers, including Google.
