Japan auto parts makers look at passing on tariff costs: Nikkei survey

Date:

TOKYO — More than half of major Japanese auto parts makers that expect higher costs due to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs are considering raising prices, a Nikkei survey has found.

The U.S. will levy a 25% tariff on key auto components starting Saturday. If parts manufacturers pass on that cost, it could lead to higher vehicle prices and suppressed demand.
