Japan’s Sojitz to partner with Indian Oil on biomethane production

MUMBAI — Japanese trading house Sojitz plans to begin manufacturing biomethane in India using rice straw, which often goes to waste.

Partnering with state-owned Indian Oil and another company, the Japanese company aims to establish 30 production facilities nationwide by fiscal 2027, targeting growing demand for sustainable energy.
