Manchester United eased past Leicester City in a 3-0 victory at the King Power Stadium. Here are our player ratings from the game.
(A score of 6 is around average)
Andre Onana 6 – Didn’t have an awful lot to do after denying Jamie Vardy early on.
Matthijs de Ligt 7 – Comfortable all match. Huge block in the 75th minute to prevent a Leicester goal.
Victor Lindelof 4 – A few nervy moments, notably when he hesitated, allowing Vardy to get the best of him in an extremely dangerous area. Vardy beat him again in the second half, leaving him on the floor.
Ayden Heaven 7.5 – Impressive before he was stretchered off with what looked like a serious injury. Produced a fantastic double block in the first half to keep the Foxes from finding the back of the net. Calm and composed on the ball. Hopefully, he’s not out for too long.
Noussair Mazraoui 7 – Mr Consistent. Went about his job with minimum fuss and seamlessly slotted into the three-man defence after Heaven was withdrawn.
Manuel Ugarte 6 – Busy in midfield as usual. Bust a gut to keep Wilfred Ndidi from connecting with the ball and maybe finding the back of the net.
Bruno Fernandes 9 – Registered two assists for United’s first two of the evening. The first one was a particularly breathtaking one. Got on the score sheet late on to make it 3-0. Assured performance in midfield.
Diogo Dalot 5 – Needs to offer a lot more in the final third. Seems out of ideas sometimes in attack.
Christian Eriksen 4 – Hit the post but didn’t offer much else after that. Sloppy passing and bypassed too easily.
Alejandro Garnacho 8 – Superb finish to double United’s advantage. Could have had two goals to his name but VAR ruled out his initial strike.
Rasmus Hojlund 8 – Sensational finish to end his goal drought. Should bode well for his confidence moving forward.
Substitutes
Toby Collyer 6 – Did well in a largely unfamiliar right-wing-back role before eventually being moved into midfield. Didn’t put a foot wrong.
Casemiro 5 – Helped get United over the line.
Joshua Zirkzee 5 – Some nice passes and link-up play.
Harry Amass 5 – Finally made his senior debut for the club.
Chido Obi 5 – On the pitch for a very limited period.
