PARIS — U.S.-China trade tensions are pushing French luxury brands and liquor producers into uncharted territory after weak Chinese demand hit bottom lines over the past two years.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s looming tariffs — a 20% levy on European fashion and leather imports — are another headache for a sector that is also suffering the effects of a tit-for-tat China-EU trade dispute.
