Malaysia’s Capital A seeks to raise funds for logistics, digital arms

Date:

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia’s Capital A plans to raise external capital for its logistics and digital units, including future listings of the businesses, as a company that started as budget carrier AirAsia proceeds with its financial restructuring.

Capital A has been undergoing a major restructuring after it was classified as a financially distressed PN17 (Practice Note 17) company in 2022 by Bursa Malaysia, the local stock exchange on which it is listed. The restructuring so far included a divestment of AirAsia, which significantly suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic.
