WASHINGTON/NEW YORK/PALO ALTO, U.S. — U.S. President Donald Trump has jolted Asian investors, governments and students during his first 100 days back in the White House, as he upends conventional American policies on trade, immigration, the Indo-Pacific and technology.
Trump, who won 49.8% of the popular vote and swept the seven swing states in the November election, has initiated mass deportations of immigrants nationally and imposed steep tariffs worldwide, while publicly berating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over Russia’s invasion of his country.
