U.S. stocks surge after Trump announces 90-day tariff freeze

NEW YORK — U.S. stock prices staged a dramatic rebound Wednesday afternoon after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would postpone additional “reciprocal” tariffs on all countries except China for 90 days.

The S&P 500 index closed the day 9.52% higher, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose a record 2,962.86 points, ending the day 7.87% higher. The Nasdaq Composite was up 12.16%.
